Also, THERE IS NO PRE ORDER PRIORITY LIST! this is confirmed by several GS in my area. if your store gets 50 systems, and you were the very first to pre order, but when the release day rolls around and your 55 in a line of pre orders, your not getting one.

I guess things have changed since 2006. Unless people who preordered in full get priority over those who only put the bare minimum down, which doesn't sound right considering all the other data you've given.

But dont worry, they keep saying that they will have enough for everyone who pre ordered. if you pre ordered, your getting one, as they know how many all the GS in the USA will get (bout 4,600 in the us)

Im just saying they stopped the priority listing.

My gs is still unsure if they are doing a midnight release, they said they needed about 80, but they are holding a pokemon midnight release, so i dont see why not

nono thats how many stores in the US gamestop has, the US as a whole will get 1 mil to 1.5 because europe is only getting 900k out of the 2.5mil alloted outside japan

I literally just called my EB Games to verify what you guys are saying. The bloke specifically told me they prioritize preorders on who's higher on the list, chronologically. I'm #3 on the list, so he says I'm golden.

Although this EB Games Canada, not Gamestop USA.

My gamestop said this too, I just called today, USA. It is a mall location Gamestop though, but since I'm #2 on the list and have it fully pre-ordered with tax, the manager of the store assured me there is no way I'm not getting it, even if I don't show up until the 28th to pick it up.

I hate the stores near me. None of them (any of them within 50 miles) will take pre-orders for the nintendo 3ds til one week before the launch date. They don't want a wii situation where they didn't have enough to fill the pre-orders and have costumers demand a refund. For the wii all USA gamestops had in total 35,000 pre-orders canceled and refunded. That is a lot of canceled orders for the usa and that was just gamestop.

they gamestop i ordered mine at is less than a mile away from another so i dont think ill have a problem

there is zero point in preordering it if you cant have it launch day
so i think the only ones that will have problems are those that didnt preorder or preordered after january 31st

im sure gamestop will honor their word

Reserved on Jan 21st, and the store is fairly new, i couldnt be THAT high on the list

My gamestop told me you had to put down $50 for the pre-order of hardware. If you pre-order online, you don't have to put down the $50 but when the shipment arrives, they charge your credit card.

Also, how do you know what pre-order # you are? It's on the receipt correct?

I believe you just ask and they can easily check instore. (Unless theres something i didnt know).

Guys im telling you it wont matter because gamestop internally knows how many 3ds systems they will get. if you pre order, you get one period. But be forwarned, if they did not and they over reserved, you think if you were pre order number #3 and they only got 30 units instock and you were 45th in the line on launch they would save you one? it dont work that way. too many people got burning with the wii and another games as such in the past.

If your store does take that time to go through the receipts on the computer and number them before launch, kudos, your lucky.

but it wont even matter, everyone who pre orders before they cut it off will get a system.

Good point i guess, i remember how pissed some guy was at the Wii launch, kept saying he was the 2nd reserve, yet he was waaaay in the back of the line (And i was literally the 2nd one there, camped with a friend about an hour before closing).

Just gotta make sure super early.......wish they were having a midnight opening though. I dont think god is gonna like it if i skip church for a game system (And i hate waking up early.....)

well mine was going to but might not now. i have to call the week of release (20 days...woooo) to get a answer. but im kinda happy they are not, because i would be an hour away from where i pre ordered due to a friends b-day party. If they dont release at midnight, my arse will be there at 7 am waiting for the 9am opening

Same here, I was told if I go in on launch day and pay off the remainder them I'm fine but they didn't like the chances of anybody who didn't pre-order a console on launch day.

I did have one on pre-order with BestBuy for the RZ dollars but I cancelled that and opted for instore with EB/Gamestop since BestBuy's customer service is appalling.
