Gaming Gamertag Questions

A few weeks before purchasing my Xbox 360 Elite, I decided to create a Gamertag using Xbox.com. I wanted to do this ahead of time so that I would already have Xbox Live set up. When I got my Xbox, however, I was not able to connect to the internet and restore my Gamertag. I have already made some progress in my games, and I don't want to create a new gamertag in order to start using Xbox Live. My concern is, my User name is the same as the Gamertag name, so will this require me to make a new one, or will I be able to use Xbox live with the User already on my Xbox?

It might, but I did the same as you. Now I'm stuck with my gamertag: driverzx2. I already contacted MS, you can't delete the Xbox.com account.

Same happened to me, i doubt there is anything you can do about it, just think of something new i suppose, or insert a capital letter (the gamertag is case sensitive)
