Hardware Gamepad home button light

I really like the gamepad's home button light but it only blinks when I get a notification on the Quick Start menu or when a friend is online. Is there any way like a homebrew app or something to make the home button light up at any time?

Exactly what im saying but based on my research there is none.

It's unfortunate that there's still no way to do that after 7 years since I asked. It's very easy to do with Switch Joy-cons and pro controllers.
These days I rarely use my Wii U (and most other consoles in general), but it is still here connected to my TV.

Homebrew for the 3DS allows us to mess with the notification light in fun ways, I imagine something similar can be done for the Wii U, but no one has ever really bothered to look into it.
