Android GameKeyboard by Locnet blocks DosBox Turbo

As per title, the application GameKeyboard actively detects when it is being run inside of DosBox Turbo and intentionally stops working (specifically it stops sending gamepad signals to DosBox)

This is done for no reason other than the fact Locnet have their own DosBox emulator and dislike the competition.

I was wondering if anyone here has the knowledge to remove the code that checks for DosBox Turbo and recompile the apk? (I know this was possible with older versions of the app, but cannot find an up-to-date version).

Ideally there would be a way to patch my legit purchased apk, but i'm rather annoyed now, so any method will do.

Wow! I didn't know Gamekeyboard actively blocks DosBox Turbo. I read the Gamekeyboard description, and it says it can be used in other emulators. I'd say that's false advertising on the part of locnet and very deceptive at the least. Why don't you post a very negative 1 star review on gamekeyboard about his deceptive practices? That may get him to change his mind and take out the blocking.

Posting a review on the play store requires Google Plus, which then starts using out my full name everywhere, not something i'm a fan of - I did very nearly go through it though just because of this app.

Looking at the older reviews you can see others have posted about it, and it would of been a reason for me not to buy the app - but i've had this app since it was first released, however DosBox Turbo i've only recently purchased, hence the issue.

Will probably just have to use a different gamepad with DosBox, fairly sure the main unique features I have GameKeyboard for are not required when i'm in DosBox.

Well that really sucks... anyway, thanks for letting us know not to support GameKeyboard...

EDIT: I noticed that locnet also sells a C64 and Amiga emulator. Does that also mean Gamekeyboard will block competing C64 and Amiga emulators from working? I wouldn't put it past him.

An interesting move and one seemingly born of pure greed.

This android/mobile world is a very odd one, in many ways it feels like early computing/new computing platforms (always interesting to see) meeting modern IP and thoughts therein. Though I always enjoy such things hopefully someone will be along at some point to correct this, sadly it mainly seems to be Ubuntu that is truly stepping up here.
