Ok I got it set up now. Can nintendon't run off USB though? because when I tried using USBloader GX this just happened. It says on Nintendont "WANRING: USB FAT DEVICE COULD NOT BE OPENED"

Oh crap another thing I realized? I don't think my HDD will work on my PC(i'm trying to move my backups onto it.) because it's been formatted for wii U...and I gonna have to buy a new HDD now in order to play wii/gamecube/wii U games on the same drive?..

You can't play Wii U and vWii backups on the same drive. Wii U has a proprietary file system and it won't work with partitioned drives or fat32 (unless you use the ungodly combo of Mocha CFW and slow, outdated-not-online-capable-loadiine). One HD for Wii U and one for vWii. Sorry that's just how it goes. Your pc can't read the file system of Wii u.

And as far as I know (I might be wrong here) Nintendont is SD only. No USB.

In the tutorial it mentioned I could use USB though

If that's the case I might just buy a SD card. What's the biggest file size the wii U can currently handle?

You are wrong. I've played GameCube games in Wii u with Nintendont via usb.

You can use usb, the other person was wrong.

Seems like the cheaper alternative would be a bigger SD card then. What's the biggest capacity the wii U can use?

probably 512gb remenber nintendont needs fat32 format same for most wii homebrew in general.

Also why is everyone just saying stuff they dont know?

nintendont works on usb/sd as long as they are formated to fat32, obvisouly a wiiu formated drive does not work since you cant even put any files on it since nintendo uses their proprietary formating stuff.

What's a good place to find cheap SD cards from?

wait "probably?" 512GB?

I have two external hard drives. One for Wii u, and one for pc and Wii/gc. Both connect and hotswap from a y cable plugged into the back of the system. Using a GameCube adapter and usb loader I can run my Wii and GameCube games from my usb drive.
