GCN Gamecube not reading disks! Help!

I've been leaving my gamecube ON for 2 weeks straight or more (can't remember), quite stupid I know, and now the drive doesn't make the disc spin no more [it doesn't look like its even powered] it just says " please insert a gamecube disc".

Also its not booting normally (it doesn't do the silly song when the BIOS boot).


What should I do to fix it?

Buy a new gamecube.

I'd just buy a new gamecube, i don't know about you but the gamecubes near my gamestops are like 10$, lol if i traded in my mario kart DS i could get a new one

common problem,
also effects philips cd-i players.

the hub that the disk clips on slides down the motor shaft & presses against the case under it.

take the disk out and see if you can spin the hub with your fingers.

bet you cant!
if that's the problem, just get a couple of flat knives and pit one under each side of the hub.
then carefully lever it up a bit.

use 2 knives because if you only lift it from one side it will tilt & could break.
