Hi y'all!

For the last decade or so, USB HDDs were a de facto standard for loading games on the Wii due to their much greater storage capacity.
However, large-capacity SDXC cards these days are much cheaper than they used to be, and they're supported on 4.1+ (or was that 4.0+), if I recall correctly.

Which brings about the obvious question: has anyone tried running any kind of a comparison between how games (Wii via loaders, GC via Nintendont) run? Stability, loading times etc.
Do USB loaders even support SD cards these days?

For me, SD cards are attractive due to their small size, native support on the Wii + a lack of any kind of moving parts. The drive I was using for Wii games started giving out after 11 years, so I got a new one a few months back, but then getting a new card for my Switch got me thinking about this again. Do people do anything like this when they, say, build portable Wiis?

Since my Wii's disk drive died ages ago I've been using USB HDD loading in one form or another (including replacing the drive with an HDD and soldering its connections to the USB header itself lol - not recommended for various reason, chiefly that wiixplorer wasn't able to mount the drive that way, so I wasn't able to add games).

Any input welcome and appreciated. My search skills aren't the greatest, so if somebody already brought this up - I'd appreciate a link to their thread.
