Hi

Is MIG Flash still the best option to back up carts?

I do believe in backing up and using the backups so the cart does not get damaged or lost.

If so, where is the best place to buy the flash cart and dumper?

Many thanks

It depends on what you want, if you just want to play backup then get a switch with modchip. Mig Switch only give you backup of the game you dump, no CFW, keep in mind you are still paying for the cartridge, unless you already have a lot of cartridge games already it can be expensive for you just to preserve some carts.

Regardless of your intended purpose, I don't think you're going to get any information on where to buy those on this forum. I'd suggest used marketplaces or look online elsewhere.

If you've got a V1 Switch then there's no point of owning one, as you can easily mod it with the RCM exploit and have all of the homebrew and games on one SD card. V2 Switch on the other hand, it's impossible without a modchip, and I can see why owning a Mig Switch would be easy for those who don't have the advanced soldering skills, or for those who do not want to fork out $150 for modding services.

The only downside to a Mig is that you cannot run homebrew without a chip. Only legit signed games that you have dumped from your physical cartridges will run.
