Did they all let the battery drain to 0%? If so there's a possibility that the remaining voltage level is below recommended levels which depending on the implementation can make it really hard to make them charge again.

Now I don't feel bad, I'm slowly realizing that Galaxies are kind of cheap crap. My s4 cracked it's screen when I tossed it onto my freaking bed. On top of that, sometimes the phone will apparently stay "on" but the screen stays black, I'm forced to hold down the power button several times until it boots back up. I'm afraid if I go to upgrade the next time that it will actually be a downgrade.

Did something came up when you're charging and press the power button? An battery animation should come up. Maybe try it with another battery or charging station
