You can try to use ysmenu instead: https://gbatemp.net/threads/retrogamefan-updates-releases.267243/
But if the card doesn't load at all (only white or black screen or it doesn't even show up in the menu), it's probably not a menu problem but a contact issue. Try to clean the contacts of the card.
