Hey guys,

Im thinking about buying a G6 lite. I have a M3 CF but now that i got a DSlite i want a nicer looking flashcard.
But before i buy it i got a few questions for the G6 lite owners here.

1. How is the homebrew support? (compared to M3)
2. How is the compatibility? (compared to M3)
3. How fast do DS games load?
4. How fast do GBA games load?
5. How is the older ROMS support?

most important questions:

6. Should i wait for the M3 lite?
7. Where is the best place to buy one?

Thanks in advance!

ds is the best.

Gambia, The
gba compatibility is more like 99.9% and that missing 0.1% are just the save function for summon nights and mario pinball

We are talking about, lets say, 1sec m3, 1.5sec g6. Doesnt really matter but yes, it takes longer to load.
And it takes MUCH longer to flash the game to the card.
I guess a m3 lite (IF it ever comes out and has the same features as the old m3) is the better deal.

its not as good as m3s.
reason is "real" flashcards like the g6 are based on another file system.
for example you need a special version of moonshell, you need a special version of doomds, you cant play games bigger than 32mb with scummvm and so.
thats what i call "not so good".

grüsse nach deutschland.

So once the G6 Flash team releases the source code, will the compatibility issues be completely solved? No more need for special versions? I love my G6 Lite for DS stuff, but the homebrew problems are quickly pushing me towards a tried and true solution like the Supercard (or the M3.) I reeeely want DSorganise, and DS native emulator support and if the developers have to put a lot of extra effort into programming specifically for the G6, I fear us G6 owners are doomed to be second class citizens in this respect. Your thoughts?

Well I remember not too long ago a compact flash based cart was the standard that everything worked on, then the SD stuff started catching up. I think you're right though, in the short run especially, an M3 lite or SC lite seems like the way to go. Plus there's all that nice storage space.
