Hacking G6 auto boots in manual mode

Hi guys I did a quick search on this and I apologise if its been covered.

Basically my G6 DS Real 16gbit automatically boots itself when I switch on my DS Lite despite it being set to manual mode.
Is this normal or is there something wrong with my DS Lite?

Select Setting in the touchpod menu and then set the option Booticon to Yes.

I have tried that, and I have also ensured that my DS Lite is set to Manual mode as well in the DS Menu.

But when I insert the G6 Real and then boot up my DS Lite, it goes straight into G6 Touchpod, and when I check the Booticon menu it is automatically set to No again.

Strange... I don't know what to say it seems that for some reason it doesn't store the booticon setting.

Could it be a faulty G6 DS Real?

Because I am also having problems with hard reset saving.

You know, you are not the only one here.
The manual setting works right after you choose manual setting from the menu.
And it even seems to be working for an hour or so.
However, when you turn on your DS lite, Boom, it boots automatically again.

I've been also having few saving problems for certain games.
Someone from the previous thread said that if something doesn't save right, then
because this thing called 'capacitor' is dead.
Even GB emulator doesn't save at all although it says 'saved'.

I returned mine back to 'RealHotStuff' couple days ago and they are going to send me
brand new one. I'm hoping this one saves my desired setting and all the games out there.
(I really recommend 'RealHotStuff'- great customer service you can't beat)

I just want to know if there's anyone out there with manual setting and have no problem
with it.

brand new one. I'm hoping this one saves my desired setting and all the games out there.

Well mate it looks like I have to do the same. Can I ask how long ago did you send yours? If they have received it, how long until you get your new one?

.. I just wanna know if they just have a bad batch of chips. So when you get yours lemme know if all is well.

I sent mine with delivery confirmation, and they received it on Friday.
They sent the new one same day and received it on following Monday.
Yeah, it took just couple days from eastcoast to westcoast.

I changed booting setting to manual and NOW IT WORKS.
You gotta change the setting and at least leave it off for couple hours to really tell if it really works or not
because faulty one used to keep the manual setting for like an hour or so.
I changed the booting setting last night and it still works just fine following day.
So I guess it was this dead 'decapatator' thingie for not saving setting properly.

One thing I notice is the change of the icon.
On the menu, where you can choose DS or GBA games, the icon for DS used to say something like
www.goldgba.com, yet this one says only 'G6flash'.

I guess it's a whole new batch of G6Real; it's still under firmware 2.2, so it's not the updated firmware.

Anyway, I strongly recommend 'RealHotStuff' for their customer service.

Great to hear, I actually just received my replacement a couple days ago too and hard reset saves are working fine now. Oh and the G6 doesn't force itself to boot anymore. It really must have been a faulty flash cart that I initially received.
