Gaming Funky joystick problems

I recently bought a pre-moded psp phat for $90.

When using the web broweser I notice that the arrow always flys straight down and I cant move it with the analog stick.

also when I try to scroll the page, it only scrolls down (leading me to assume the stick is stuck down).


I had a simluar problem with a psx controller several years ago and all I really had to do was mess around with it for a bit so it could work. Thats not really working here.


I was curious as to if anyone had any advice on what I might be able to do.


I haven't gotten a memory stick yet so I havent tried any games yet. Can the problem just be the browser?

You prolly need to replace the joystick assembly. Go to http://www.dealextreme.com and search for psp joystick. I replaced mine with no problem.

woah! they sell it for only $3....

do you know if replacing it will be difficult? Id rather not take unnessesary risks.

I'm pretty sure you have to take quite a bit off to get to it.
Also need a torq(sp?) screwdriver to open it up. I suggest just taking off the faceplate and messing with it with a little added room and stick to grab onto.
