Hacking Friends list not working on Emunand

Hey,

I'm
relativity new to 3ds hacking and all that so sorry if this is a stupid question. I tried to find an answer via search engines but I couldn't. Basically I have installed CFW on my 9.2.0 - 20E Its an Old 3ds XL.

Everything else is fine with the hack, I can install games, updates and all of that fun stuff. But when I go to add my friends so I can battle them on Pokemon I get an error message every time and It crashes to the Emunand home menu. I also cant use the notifications applett. The music and sound effects play but when I click buttons the screen stays frozen.

I re installed everything (formatted the SD card and ran through the entire process again) and it is still doing it. Any suggestions on how I can get it working?

Open the friends app and let it sit for a while. It could take up to 20 minutes for it to "fix" itself.

It boots back to the home menu when I open it :S

It comes up with the regular "you can add friends" and when you click okay it crashes back to the home screen with an error message :s

But you said it freezes when you click a button right?

I just checked, I click "friend list" then "next" a few times. It then pans over to my ID card thing, freezes for a second and then boots to the home screen with the error message "an error has occured please save and restart"

Could be that your friends and notifications apps corrupted during the downgrade. I recall having a similar problem when I first loaded up emuNAND on the 3DS. Leaving it on the friends menu screen for 10 minutes fixed the problem for me. Does the friends list load up fine on sysnand or RX-S?

I was really close to making a thread with this exact issue and just letting it sit for a little bit fixed it for me on sysnand lol. Thank you. As far as emunand goes when that happened to a friend of mine he restored a emunand backup and it worked fine then.

Yup.

Could be worth a shot if letting it sit doesnt fix it.

That and i was also thinking if his nands are linked won't adding friends in sysnand also show up in emunand as well? Maybe that will work for OP.

I have no idea what an emunand backup is or what to do with one so Im gonna pray that this works :') Its sitting on friends list and I haven't hit "next"

Btw, Im a noob and I have always wondered, why do people unlink Sysnand and Emunand?

To prevent the "gift" glitch and to prevent cias installed on emuNAND from disappearing. Also sometimes, if you update emuNAND and your NAND is linked, theres a small chance of it updating your sysNAND. There are downsides to unlinking as well, but in general it is much better to unlink.

Btw, what CFW are you using?

Oh I get it , might try a linkied install if it doesnt work :s and Rx Tools 2.6

That's your problem then! The notifications applet was crashing for me too, but the latest version of rxTools fixes the problems. Sadly, I don't know a working link to it, you could find it somewhere on GBATemp.

2.6 isn't outdated, it is infact the latest stable release.

I'll try 3.0 I guess, it was happening for me too on that build too though

2.6 was prone to causing problems like these. Use the stable nightly build for 3.0 and it should fix your problem.
