PS1/2 Freezing with esr

So I've been using esr to run back ups and the games work fine at first, but after a few hours of playing they start to skip and freeze. Upon further inspection I noticed that the dvd that was brand new is now scratched as shit. I was wondering if my ps2 just has a crappy disc tray or if the dvd's are low quality, i used memorex dvd-r

If your discs get scratched, either your drive is damaged, or your ps2 is standing instead of lying as it should.

yeah the disc tray must be damaged, its an old phat model. if i were to buy one of the slim models would i be able to use my already exploited memory card on it? or are the slim models "smarter"?

I exploited my friend's Memory Card using my fat for his slim. It works 100%.

It depends on the model, the newer slims don't suppot Free McBoot.
