Next time, use a ZIP code from a U.S. state that doesn't charge sales tax — like Oregon (ZIP: 97001). It'll simplify spending.

Also, I read a suggestion to use PayPal for payment instead of buying eShop credit.
You can also do that with pre-paid phone services to bypass a bunch of taxes, like 911 fees. I recommend Alaska. Just in case the tax man is reading, this is for educational purposes, of course.

Codename Gordon can be added for free on Steam (delisted) via Steamdb. I've personally added it via ASF: !addlicense asf a/92
Z3TA+ 2 - Polybius 8-bit Game Pack can be added for free as well on Steam. However, it's a delisted DLC for a delisted game. Once again, I've added it via ASF: !addlicense asf s/32287

EDIT: You can even added these two via web browser as long as you're logged into your Steam account:
  • javascript:AddFreeLicense(32287)
  • javascript:AddFreeLicense(1055488)

lol thx, I try that!

As for PayPal: Even that didn't work as well since my german bank accounts are linked to PayPal and Nin-stupid-tendo would still refuse to take it. I tried.

The developer is delisting these games on 1/30, as they're closing the company.

Hi everyone, as you may have noticed, we've not been very active online for the past few years. We are officially in the process of closing our studio. We are fine, we just wanted to move on to other things..

Our games will be removed from all platforms on January 30. Read the article below to know what will happen if you already own the games or if you want to buy them.

- Alt-Frequencies might (it's a maybe) return at a later date.
- Diamonds has been officially cancelled as we repeateadly failed to secure the funding necessary to develop the game as we envisioned it. We don't know yet what we'll do with the prototype.

Alt-Frequencies has been delisted from Google Play for a while already. There's an itch.io page that has the game, including an Android APK, but it's not discounted or free... yet.

Wtf?
Yeah, it won't install on my phone either.

Google Play has stopped allowing older apps to be purchased/installed if they don't target the newer API within 2 years.

https://techcrunch.com/2022/04/06/g...s-for-outdated-apps-starting-later-this-year/
Google is preparing to clear its Play Store of outdated apps. The company warned Android app developers that starting on November 1, 2022, it will hide apps and block their installation to users’ devices if developers haven’t kept up with the latest Android OS releases. Specifically, Google said apps that don’t target an Android API within two years of the latest major Android release version will no longer be able to be discovered or installed by new users whose devices run Android OS versions that are higher than the apps’ target API level...

“Users with the latest devices or those who are fully caught up on Android updates expect to realize the full potential of all the privacy and security protections Android has to offer. Expanding our target level API requirements will protect users from installing older apps that may not have these protections in place,” the company stated.

Basically, they're saying the app is too insecure to run on newer phones.

Details about the A Normal Lost Phone app on Google Play:
Released on Jan 25, 2017
Updated on Jun 6, 2023
Requires Android 7.0 and up
Downloads: 100,000+ downloads
Content rating: Mature 17+ • Strong Language

Permissions
Showing permissions for all versions of this app
This app has access to:

Other
  • view network connections
  • full network access
  • Google Play license check

So it hasn't been updated in over 2 years, so newer Android devices can't install it. That's probably one of the reasons it's being delisted.

Bluestacks Android emulator for PC will install the apps fine, as it defaults to Android Pie.

How do you do this?
Is there a way to do this from a mobile (Android) phone?

I personally use ArchiSteamFarm on PC and, once I do the initial setup, I just run those commands and the app adds those games to my account. You can also set up multiple accounts, if you want. Otherwise, you need to be logged into your browser and you can use Javascript commands as well if you can open up the console (on PC in Firefox, you need to go to Inspect and then switch to console tab while you're on Steam website).

If the browser you use support running console commands, yeah. Otherwise, I've seen that it's possible to install ASF on Android but I'm yet to try it out myself. Here's the guide.

Other than javascript or ArchiSteamFarm
If you have steam installed and running, open steam://open/console in a browser window. Steam will show you a new console tab (mine is named "Konsole" because that's the german name for console):

on the bottom, you'll see a line to enter commands. Enter app_license_request 92 and hit return, it should add the license to your account.

Also, if you're on a PC with the Steam client installed, in this instance I was able to claim the free game Codename: Gordon by clicking the "Launch" button on the top of the SteamDB page:

This had the side effect of downloading and installing the game, but it's also now added to my library. In this instance, it's a very small game (80MB), so it installing automatically wasn't an issue, but that may be something to be aware of for a larger game.

SunBlockers is free on Epic Games Store.

I haven't looked too much into info about this game but just from the images and videos on their EGS page it doesn't look like much at all. Epic Games started posting shovelware? Also, 10GB minimum storage requirement? It does look weird. Also, blacklisted in Australia, Brazil, Germany, Russia and South Korea.

There are a few games left that can be exchanged for Flakes in STOVE Flake Shop.

Don't forget to use whatever coupons on STOVE you have that might expire after this month!

Both of these games look to be the same developer. One developer is named DarkGoose4, the other darkgoose4. Also, the games were released close together. nightreaper2 was reelase 12/18/2025, and SunBlockers was released 12/24/2025

NightReaper2 has also been released on Steam, although it's not free there:

I can't find any reviews for the games, and no mentions of a first NightReaper game. I also can't find any info on the developer. So, as @Blythe93 mentioned, they seem like shovelware.

I found out that Epic just changed their discount options to allow developers to run 100% off promotions, so these may be the first of many.

From Epic's store update email, sent out 29th January

New Discount and Promotional Options

Developers can now run 100% discounts on their products for a limited time using the Time-Limited Free Promotion option in the Discount Management Tool. This lets you offer your content for free on the Epic Games Store during a timeframe you choose; for example, to support a game launch, DLC release, franchise beat, or game updates.

Time-Limited Free Promotions follow our standard discounting guidelines and are separate from the Epic Games Store Free Games program.

In addition, developers can now add a custom 5% to 95% discount to their product as part of an existing Epic Games Store promotional campaign. Developers can set up both of these new discount and promotional options using the Discount Management Tool in the Developer Portal.
