Hacking Formating Wii homebrew

Hi, I have installed the homebrew channel, custom ios/cios, and a bunch of apps and loaders. What I would like to know is if I format my wii system memory, will it remove everything including the ios/cios? Also can I now upgrade to the latest system menu without bricking my wii? Thanks!

You can simply upgrade first. after the upgrade you can format the system memory.

it should as the upgrade from 3.2 to 3.4 replaces all the ios files with the trucha fixed ones to block out freeloader and edited wii disks

Thanks! But the thing I still dont get is will it be restored to the original wii out of the box and not bricked?

yes i did the same thing as you and my wii is fine and works as it did when i bought it

I'm pretty sure once you upgrade and format everything would act like you never touch homebrew unless you look at the tickets so ya it will pretty much be like your original wii but with some tickets which you shouldn't worry too much about
