Hacking FMA DS not working

first of all, I would like to give a hearty hello to all of GBAtemp, as this is my first post

now, down to business:
the game is fullmetal alchemist: dual sympathy, and its the USA version.
when I start the game all I get are two white screens.
ive tried all combos of the different read styles and trimming or not trimming.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
