I would like to begin by thanking <a href="http://www.coolgadgetsgift.com/" target="_blank">CoolGadgetsGift</a> for supplying this sample. CoolGadgetsGift is also one of the official distributors of the R43DS. The R43DS was one of the first flashcarts to work on the 3DS. It is also one of the first ones to work on V1.4.2 firmware when Nintendo updated DSi's firmware in an attempt to block flashcarts yet again. The R43DS is very affordable but its features can rival that of more expensive flashcarts so it is definitely a smart buy.

1X R43DS Flash kit
1X Transflash USB Reader

The package it came in was small. This is understandable because it is easy to handle and it only comes with 2 items. It may not have a unique appealing design but the package is well enough. The flashcart itself was appealing enough. I was quite fond of it's sticker design. It also came with a transflash USB which was useful because some people might not have microSD card readers when they purchase their first flashcarts. Including a USB reader is very good in my simple opinion.

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Setting Up & Update</div><!--h-->

The installation was very easy and simple to understand. You can find the correct system files off of <a href="http://r4idsn.com/download.asp" target="_blank">this</a> which is also shown on the box. If you happened to have thrown out the box without looking that link will help you get you the files you need.

You must scroll down and download the V1.5.1BEnglish. After extracting you drag the files over to the root of your microSD card and you are ready to go. If you need to download the update then just look down and get the required file. There are two which are R4idsn Non-3DS or the 3DS version. Both work. When you extract it just drag the required file over to the root of your microSD card. After that just simply push A to start it up and push A again when you are ready. It will begin to update and when its done you must reboot your DSi'3DS. If you were successful you will see Meet the Robinsons when you start it up. That is the R4iDSN 3DS in disguise.

<img src="http://www.r4idsn.com/images/main_menu.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

When you first look at the menu you will notice it has the same style as the DSi menu. I thought this was pretty nice and impressive. No other flashcart really did that but they did similar menus. I personally liked it so it is very appealing. You have many features in such a affordable flashcart.

You are able to play games, audio, video, use notepad, pictures, and use file browsing.

<img src="http://www.r4idsn.com/images/music_play.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The firmware itself is also combined with that of the Wood R4 OS which is frequently updated. Thus this makes this flashcart fully compatible with latest games.

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Compatibility</div><!--h-->

I had quite a few games on my microSD card so I decided to do a test.

Games were not the only thing this flashcart could do. This flashcart also allows .dpg file movies and also .mp3 file music to be played. All around this makes this flashcart the ultimate multimedia flash kit. Not one of the best but for the price your paying for this is definitely satisfying and will keep your appetite in check.

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Miscellaneous</div><!--h-->

This flashcart also allows homebrew and cheats and almost about anything any other flashcart can do. Unfortunately it is not like one of the big flash kits such as the DSTWO which can do more such as play GBA games. Although this does not have "everything" that does it has enough. In my honest opinion none of this matters as long as it is able to run games. I myself am not a homebrew person so I was not able to test it if it worked or not.

As for cheats like any other flash kit it runs on usrcheat.dat which can be found <a href="http://cheats.gbatemp.net" target="_blank">here</a> at GBAtemp.

<!--h--><div style="background: #DDE6F2;border: 1px solid white;border-bottom: 1px solid #5176B5;border-top: 1px solid #5176B5;color: #5176B5;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0;padding: 5px;">Overall & Grading</div><!--h-->

I was very satisfied with this sample. It had some unique features that made it stand out amongst other flash kits. It may not be as popular or as strong as its competition but it is definitely easily the most purchased flashcart because of what it has been able to do. It has bypassed the 3DS and the DSi and is able to work on both of them. Also it is up there in the race to always keep updated and bypass any updates Nintendo throws out. I was very impressed with this flashcart and I recommend you go get your own if you haven't already. I will look forward to owning a 3DS so I can enjoy it on that but for now I will enjoy it anyhow. Hopefully it will go further.

Thank you CoolGadgetGifts for providing me with this sample.

I don't mean to double post but I wasn't able to add my videos from youtube for some reason. Is there a reason why? I tried embedding it and etc but it didn't work. If you want to see it though just go to my channel which I linked to in the bottom. Nothing special unfortunately. If I can't embedd it in I won't make videos.
