Hacking flashing hardware with flashme, still unique id?

I'm thinking of flashing my original ds with flashme, but I dont know if this will overwrite my current id on the console, the id together with the game id which makes friends-keys. Do everyone who has flashed with flashme have the same console id? or is the old one still in use even if I flash?

I think the friend keys are stored on the game cartrige, and besides, friend codes are generated from the MAC address, and flashing doesn't change the MAC address.

ah nice thanks, the MAC address though, that should be located on the console networking device, maybe I understood wrong, might be both game catrige plus MAC address. Otherwise everyone using roms would share friends id.
