I know the DS Two works, but the "GBA Compatibility" post listed a few others, although that post did not indicate if those carts work in the 3DS as well, not did I see those carts available for purchase anywhere. Also, I have seen a few things mentioning the R4 3DS or R4i gold can work on the 3DS as well with GBA games, but I can't find much information/confirmation. Thanks for any help

for DS and GBA roms, (there are NO cards that can run 3ds roms)

you need the SuperCard DSTWO

it works on the 3ds to play DS roms and GBA roms (GBA might not run some game, but it can run some as well)

The DSTwo can work on the 3DS

Also the R4i Gold 3DS also works on the 3DS, well only if the card has the latest hardware

You can determine the hardware by looking at the back of the card where the board is exposed, there should be a small number or letter in the right hand corner. If the letter or number is 9, A,B,C, you are golden, anything different will not work with this update.

There is a GBA emulator for slot 1

It's pretty good, not the best due to hardware limitations though.

Okay, thanks. So how is the DS Two running GBA games? Emulation, or through some hardware pass through to the process that plays the official GBA games downloaded from the nintendo store?

Also, I'm not sure where to post this question since there doesn't seem to be a GBA-specific forum: Are flash carts that would fit flush with a GBA Micro still available for sale anywhere? Which flashcart would I need? I have an old supercard sd, but it's big and extends past the body of the Micro.

I doubt it. AFAIK all the GBA flashcarts were GBA-cartridge sized (at least the ones that are still sold now) and I don't think that the ones used for the DS Lite's Slot 2 would fit.

I believe the Elink2 flashcard is still available on some Chinese sites. I haven't used it, so I don't know if it's any good, though.
