I just went to get some frozen yogurt at a local place called Orange Leaf. I grabbed a normal size cup and I filled with Lychee flavor (my favorite).

All of a sudden normal looking family walks in with a kid, older sister (who was cute and was the reason I was paying attention to them in the first place), and their mom. I notice the mom is holding an old DS Lite in White for the kid. She sets down her daughter's Pantec Duo slide phone and her son's DS Lite on the counter with the game slot facing me.

I look over casually at the stuff when I find myself doing a double-take. The game was white! I take a closer look and there was a small splotch of black on the corner, a MicroSD. So basically the DS either had a really old first gen R4 or a Cyclo DS.

I found this interesting as I usually don't see them in public much, how about you guys?

Nope, I've actually never seen them in public. The only people I know with flash carts are my family members (because I taught them about them).

The card could've also been a DSONE. Just saying. :3

Anyway, I don't see many people with DSes in public, but a few of my old classmates own DSes, aaaaand they don't pirate. >: On the other hand, a few of my friends own PSPs and they pirate games. :3

or it could be a limited edition dstwo

and no i never see them, just other people sometimes see that my (regular) dstwo looks funny and ask about it, then i get the heck out of there

I've never run into anybody who has even heard of flashcarts, here.
But I'm always glad to tell people all about them.

Why the heck would an 8 year-old have a limited edition DS2?

wut

I see them all the time in public.

Almost everybody in my neighborhood that owns a DS has a flashcart. They purchase R4 clones from Chinatown or Pacific Mall although it's incredibly overpriced at those places ($70+)

Only one time have I seen a flashcard in public, but it was a fateful encounter. . .

There was a Japanese-American student in my Philosophy class using one to record the prof's lectures. I thought that was the coolest thing ever at the time and I went and bought my first flashcard shortly after that. Changed my gaming life!

I see them in public all the time. Some parents really don't feel like paying so much for games, so they get their midgets flashcarts to keep them satisfied, at a reasonable price. At least, that's how I explain it.
