Hacking First Time PSP User!!

Ok I just got a PSP Go that is on Firmware 5.70, and I heard it is moddable to play backup games. And I also heard that if u do mod it, you cant use PSN anymore? Is this true?

3) " Copy the UPDATE folder to /PSP/GAME/. " do I need a special micro sd card ready with /PSP/Game? I dont get this part lol

AS you're using a GO, you just use its internal memory to cope the UPDATE folder.

just upgrade to 6.35 or 6.39 than use the hack
you should be able to go into PSN with 6.35

after you update than follow rydian's guide

Now to install the hack!
Download 6.39 PRO-B6
Copy the 639PROUpdate and 639FastRecovery folders to /PSP/GAME/ on your memory stick (or Go's internal storage).
Run 6.39 PRO-B Updater on your PSP, and press X to install.
Your PSP should restart into hacked mode. This will last until your PSP is shut fully off (sleep mode is okay). To hack it again quickly, run the Fast Recovery to get back into 6.39 PRO.

I put it using USB on my computer, I dont see anything apper under My Computer? Why? Do I need to do something first?

you need to go all the way to the left and then up in the psp menu. the psp only enables usb through the menu.

If you are not already on Official Firmware 6.35...

Download 6.35 official firmware (for PSP 100X/200X/300X) or (for PSP Go).
Copy the UPDATE folder to /PSP/GAME/.
Launch the 6.35 update on your PSP, and tell it to update.

You install 6.20 OFW than you apply the PRO-B6 update. THan you apply the perma patch. It'll take 5 minutes give or take.

Use 6.20 if you want perma goodness.

On OFW you need to have the latest but PRO lets you access the PSN. I'm using 6.35 PRO on my PSP Go and I can access the PSN.

Nah, Coolbird's firmwares all pretty much function the same. You should access PSN on all three.

Only 6.20 has a perma patch hence why its reccomended.

I downloaded the 6.20 firmware and all I see is the EBOOT.PBP file, no UPDATE file, do I just drag the PBP file to /PSP/GAME/ ?? And after I do that, how do I run this 6.20 update?

make a "UPDATE" folder and put the eboot in there.
/psp/game/update/eboot

YOu install the 6.20 PRO-B Updater which installs 6.20 Pro-B6 (the icon has "UPDATE" faintly in the middle) than apply the perma patch called 6.20 PRO-B Permanent Patch (the icon says PERMANENT BOOTLOADER). It should be a simple process.

You put those two files under /PSP/GAME/.

in that case you make the UPDATE folder and put the EBOOT inside it. /PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP

then turn on your PSP go to the game section and then run the update.
