In the wonderful world of IRC, a few of us were remembering our first video game related memories. This just came into my mind after a recent article on Kotaku (i think), but if this was something from here, i greatly apologize... the net is a big blur for me anymore

.

Anyhoo, so my earliest VG memory is playing PacMan outside of an old Hills shopping center. (Hills is similar to Kmart/Walmart, just on a local scale). Didn't have a home system til Christmas of '86, when my dads side of the family went together to get me a Nintendo (with gun and mario/duckhunt) and The Legend Of Zelda. It all went down hill from there.

But yea,
Whats your earliest gaming memory? like the title said, i like feeling old, and i'm sure that'll happen here!

Hit meh!

You are sooo young holy.

Mine would have to be... I can't think of the oldest one off the top of my head, but I can think of three from very similar times. Kirby for NES (In French, it was cheaper at Wal Mart), Super Mario Bros, or TMNT for NES

uhhm a game from a vintage family computer(nes, i think)

When I was a wee ferrariman, I had a PSone. The very first game that I played was either Ehrgeiz or Ridge Racer Type Four. I learned the names of the games later. Also, maybe before that, I played Diddy Kong Racing somewhere, but I don't exacly know where. I learned it was DKR by playing the DS version.

...Holy Shit, I am young.

lol Canadian.
Mine would be playing Super Mario World on the SNES.
It was my brother's friend's, he lent it to my brother, and together, we beat the game.
Of course, my older brother did the hard ones

God you are all so young!

I am waiting for Panzer Tacticer to come in and say he beta tested Pong

Either Super Mario All Stars(Is that the name?), Kirby Super Star, Kirby Dreamland 3, or that TMNT Turtles in Time on the Super Nintendo. Super Mario All Stars got lost in some void and Kirby Super Star doesn't save anymore.

We only had a Super Nintendo at the time. I was expecting more people to have played older games...

well my first memory was playin my uncle's tetris on the original nintendo system (forget wat its called)

second memory, few yrs later, my cousin playin the original sc campaign.

hmm since im only a teen my first memory would be playing pokemon gold on gbc xD but a weird thing is after i beat pokemon gold i bought pokemon yellow o_o then crystal then emerald >_> and the pokemon trail goes on

I started gaming at the age of around 3 with my mum and sister. We had an atari, but I always used to cry that it hurt my hands. So my mom got me one of the special kids ones that was soft. Then I would own my sister at games like pacman because it was so much easier to use the kids controller. So my sister would hit me over the head with her controller =/

My most vivid memory is my sister making me hold the power cable going into the transformer of our NES to make it work. You had to hold it in a certain way or it would cut out, and my sister would make me sit there for hours on end just holding it lol.

I was GIVEN a Mega Drive by my next door neighbor (He was caught up in all th PS1 malarky). Played The Sonic trilogy, Micro Machines and Road Rash 2 constantly.
