Meh. Other than the 10core (assuming you use stuff that will even use it fully), nothing here for x99 owners. Rest of the offerings are meh. More expensive than their haswell-e counterparts, for little to no gain and early results show worse overclocking

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-core-i7-broadwell-e-6950x-6900k-6850k-6800k,4587-7.html

1.45V for 4.4 and silly heat dissipation.

"Air cooling is really only an option if you run the -6800K at its stock frequencies. A simple closed-loop liquid cooler is needed to step up to 4.0GHz. At 4.4GHz, there’s no way around a true open-loop setup. For example, a Corsair H100i that we tried was overwhelmed after just 12 minutes, after which the processor throttled due to core temperatures in excess of 90 degrees Celsius."

Most 5820K (it's haswell-e counterpart), will do [email protected] and are fine using an AIO unit or one of the bigger dual tower air cooler (noctua dh15 and similar).

Honestly, sounds like silicon chips are reaching their limits :O

Honestly I don't see any reason why anyone would wanna buy this.
People who need more cores and cache can just opt for the latest Xeon cpus.

What's the point of "confirming" games you know will get released. Like Nintendo "confirming" a Zelda sequel. "We can't be sure Nintendo is working on a new Zelda game, or if a new Zelda game will ever be released, until they officially confirm it."
  • Veho @ Veho:
"There is literally no way to know if they will ever release a new Zelda game, it's wild speculation until they officially confirm it."
