I want to softmod my Wii to play backups.I installed HBC over year ago, and haven't done anything with it since.My question is, is there a way to mod your Wii, and make it safe from bricking, and if so how do I go about doing it?Any input would be appreciated thanks.

Ok, I updated to 4.2 safely, and finished all the steps.If I wanted to play a real game disc, could I still do that?My friend has No More Heroes 2, and I wanted to borrow it, can I?

What do you mean?I can't burn games, can I still use an external HD?

Burned games can only be used on older Wiis,the ones without the D3-2 drive.

Use of external HD is alright,you have to use a USBLoader though

yup, i bought mine on late 2008 and it plays dvds + bootmii as boot 2

u should be fine, but even if it was a new wii u can always copy a wii backup disk to your harddrive using a computer, and if its a retail disk u can rip the games to your external hard drive using the wii

Ok, everything works fine.I just need a good external hard drive.Any suggestions?

I'm usin a 320GB Seagate FreeAgent Go laptop drive. Suggest laptop drive as uses USB power and thusly no extra power points needed.
Use the WBFS Manager from http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=148...rd+drive+loader to format and load the games onto your hd.
Haven't had a single drama.
