I just got splatoon and was wondering if there was a homebrew app that spoofs the firmware so it looks like I am on the latest version.

apparently all the good stuff is going to be working on the latest firmware, so just update and block future updates. You'll (probably) need to spoof after the next update (if there is one), so be sure to stay on the current firmware 5.5.1.
