Instead of FF/RW, isn't it better to just pause the video and then use the stylus search thingie? That's what I do....

this stylus search thingie you speak of... you mean in moonshell?! what is it? and can you do it in movies? tell me!!!

and springah, I agree with you completely.

No doubt, the so-called fast-forward ain't so fast.

When in moonshell watching a movie, hold the stylus on the bottom screen for a second, the bottom screem will come to life and you will see a progress bar on there, well just point to somewhere on that bar and moonshell will seek to that point in the movie. To exit just hold the stylus to the bottom screen somewhere other than the progess bar and it should pop back up to the top screen for playback.

Or you can just hit select and it will go back to the top screen and continue on with the show.

Good tip though. I'll have to check that out.

I would like to have the ability to browse through files and directories with the stylus, that is, swapping the top and bottom screen when it enters "GAME" menu, why didn't they do this in first place bugs me, since they have always been promoting "stylus assessable firmware", as of now, the stylus hasn't got much use in the firmware.

I too hope it would search quicker in Moonshell when playing a video, MP3 does it fine though, still, I am amazed with Play-Yan's playback, but then again, this is Moonshell's side so the R4 theme can't do much here.

Customizable icons would be awesome, aside of having the 3 main ones, we could have a few small shortcuts and assign to specific favorite games/apps of ours.

SDHC support is interesting but I could care less about it now since I wouldn't be getting the cards for now as I hardly play medias with my DSL, and I am pretty sure they have Worms2 in the fixing list right now, but meh, I have patched the rom myself.

And here are a few extra features that I have been dreaming for, an ingame menu(like the one in Cyclo) that could help us change the back light as well as viewing TEXT files without reseting the game, faqs/walkthroughs anyone? And a few more extra original features would be good enough, if they could make any.

If they do that, they really need to improve the text viewing feature. Word wrapping at least, for fuck's sake. It uses a fixed width font after all, it'd be fairly trivial to implement.

Considering that worms 2 is the biggest issue... it's still not enough to cause a release so they are considering something big and thus time taking...All other suggestions are great but are these being forwarded to R4??

Hopefully that something big is the English release of Phantom Hourglass.

just open source R4 if it going to dead, otherwise whatever suggested above...

If its dying they don't have much reason to open-source it.

Actually they do, because most of the older products out these days should they be game system related or not are still receiving community support because of open source. I would personally like to see it open sourced only because it will open new doors.

Then they would have to open-source all their future flashcarts, or the new open-sourced R4 will infringe on their future sales.

We've been in contact with the R4 team and can happily say that firmware v1.12 is in the works. There is absolutely no set release date yet, so it will "be done when it's done". But owners can rest assured that they haven't abandoned the cart! Also, no successor to the R4 is in the works. Nothing but the new shell design.

you heard it here first
