FireFox's Spell Check SUCKS!

Man, I am so fed up with the retarded suggestions FireFox gives me when I type a word wrong!
The last straw was this!

Come on! Proletariats?! What the fuck!

I don't know what to be more horrified at: the fact that a) you can't spell Good Charlotte, or b) you're going to see them...

it really pisses me off sometimes, I wish there was more customization to it.. I've accidentally added so many words to the dictionary simply because I clicked that option instead of the last suggested word.

really stupid idea to put that option after all the suggested words.. plus sometimes it can be really off, there are a couple words like "dont" (without the apostrophe) and the first word it suggests is "donut"

I've never had the adding words problem before. Plus, if all my suggested words are retarded, then I know I really need to work on that particular word.

Firefox's spell checker gets a thumbs up from me.

Sometimes it doesn't guess right, but I never accidentally add words to the dictionary. I think you just need to slow down and not click so fast

In the address bar type “about:config”
In the filter box type “layout.spellcheckDefault”
Change the value to a “2″, by default it should be a “1″
Restart Firefox

I did that, what did it do?

now go type a message, when u type wrong it right click on it. It just activates spell check in all fields for those who haven't.

i use google spell checker for firefox, it's much more accurate.

it cant spell guarantee either. all strange spelling of it won't get the right word. man, that screwed with me for a while.

Personally the standard of spelling has gone up since it became widespread so that is good. On the other hand as one who frequently writes with numerous technical terms and somewhat archaic language I can see entirely where you are coming from.

Also I wish the British one would be updated more frequently, z and lack of u has no place in most of what I write.
