To all the firefox users. I was wondering which firefox addons you use?
I currently use:
  • OptimizeGoogle
  • Adblock Plus
  • iGoogle Tab Remover
Then there is the usual Java and Kaspersky addons.

I am curious to try addons that other Tempers have found useful.

Adblock+ and the "SITE WE DONT TALK ABOUT" addon. That's it.

And ofcourse Personas and Java.

I used to use some password addon, where you could just press Alt+N to log in. But, well, forgot the name and cba to look for it.

For the last few years:

NoScript
NoSquint (I use with TV)
CookieSwap (great for Quidco etc)
Autopager
FlagFox
Compact Menu
Toolbar buttons.

I will not use any google plugins. I used to use one which displayed the icons for sites in the search results. Search for anything 'dodgy' and PeerGuardian used to have a fit as Anti Piracy companies (MediaSentry etc) monitor the sites and your browser is visiting them all to get the icon.

Interested in the SITE WE DON'T TALK ABOUT. I can think of a load of sites we probably shouldn't talk about.

.... Guess I should stop talking about it.... LOL.

What site's that?

I imagine they'll automatically substitute the url if they really don't want you linking to it.

I could probably do with thinning the herd a bit but

Adblock plus- does as it says on the tin
Noscript- helps block flash and other fun javascript/similar things. For some it gets annoying but I get annoyed by stupid javascript more.
greasemonkey+ a whole bunch of scripts and my hackjobs to them (mainly youtube, imdb and other choice sites)
firebug- not everybody who has good information also doubles as a good web designer (or they use flash) and being able to debug/rewrite in real time is great.
TACO/abine- defaults to opt out cookies for various advert networks and apparently it can sort flash cookies so I have not swapped to beef taco just yet.
download helper- usually saves me fiddling with sourcecode although I have greasemonkey scripts for most flash sites I care about.
skipscreen- for the occasions I find myself at a file host.
tab kit- collapseable tabs that are colour coded by site is awesome.

While we are on the subject I also block redirection.

I'm surprised more people don't use Noscript. Even before noscript existed I used to do a similar thing with IE4 eons ago with the registry editor and internet zones. It really has kept my browser safe over the years.

adblock plus
AFOM reduces how much ram firefox leaks, not that it makes a lot of difference.
downthemall download accelerator
firefox sync backup your bookmarks in one go
google toolbar
mytube speeds up youtyube vids.
skipscreen
tab mix plus, it's better than firefox tab management.
surfclarity it removes web links from google search that you don't want to see, like the spam search websites and so on.

thats all i need tbh.

I think optimizegoogle is more of an anti-google plugin.

Adblock plus- you get the idea.
Adblock plus: Element hiding helper- helps let u choose what to block.
Autopager- automatically loads the next page under the current page.
BarTab- only loads tabs when your looking at the page. (no more loading 30+ tabs at start!)
Download status bar- use a tiny status bar to view downloads.
IE Tab Plus- use IE's engine and keep ad block.
Skipscreen- skips the wait for downloads.
