Whats exactly the point of this? Is there something special? Otherwise, I'm going to stick to my faithful Firefox.

Dude, we are talking about Firefox, more accurately, Firefox 2's successor. Firefox 3 blows Firefox 2 away and most other browsers. They fixed most if not all the memory leaks and slow downs from Firefox 2. Currently Firefox 3 has just about the lowest memory footprint of any other browser right now including Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer. That and all the new features added are sexy.

I liked Beta 5 a lot and I upgraded to 3.0 RC1. its good but not a lot of my extensions work. i guess that's the only downside right now.

Get Mr. Techs Toolkit, lets you enable all the extensions regardless of what max version they were made for.

i've been using it for a while and no problems so far. all my extensions were already compatible, or had RCs of their own. i really like it. a bunch of minor improvements really add up.

I got it and I like it but most of the incompatible themes which I forcibly enable look a bit weird.
Also, Google Toolbar makes firefox crash

Except for that its great.

EDIT: hmm.. It seems I can't get to the menu of TMP. :|...
I think I'll just go back to FF2 for the time being.

Get the latest developer's build of TMP in their forums. It works perfectly with Firefox 3 and has som extra features.

I can't wait to see some of the features, but I think I'm going to wait until the [final] release.

I've been using Firefox 3 since Beta 2, and I love it.

The coolest feature of 3, imo, is being able to auto-search your bookmarks by typing in the address bar. It auto-matches any word or part of a word in the address or the description. I never even need my bookmark toolbar open anymore.

I'm still on 3b5, so I guess I'll go get 3.0rc1. Thanks for the tip.

You'll need Mr.Tech's Toolkit or the Nightly Tester Tools to enable it or manually edit the install.rdf file inside the xpi file (Its a zip archive by the way) for Firefox 3.

I don't mean search box. I meant the little search box for google/wikipedia etc next to the adress bar.
When I force themes then the icon for whichever searchengine I'm using looks like a big block which looks a bit weird.

Does anyone know if the release will be directly upgradable to Firefox 3 without wierd things happening (I experienced them when I used the Firefox 2 betas and rcs then tried to install the final)
