everyone should try the latest opera beta 9.5. if you like firefox 3, then damn opera is more impressive than that

they finally fixed the annoying middle click automatically going to the center of the window thing which kept me from using opera. And the speeds blow other browsers away. I opened 100 tabs and it ONLY consumed 200mb of memory

Things are looking good for firefox3 and opera =)

the only thing is that I hope i could bring my extensions to opera. that would be perfect

Hey, are there any themes which work properly with firefox 3?
any themes i force make my searchbox look weird...
You still use the search box?

Quick searches > search box.

I don't mean search box. I meant the little search box for google/wikipedia etc next to the adress bar.
That is the search box.

Also, the adressbar doesn't work properly with themes..
all the suggestions get messed up.

Use Themes meant for Firefox 3. Firefxo 2 themes are incompatible, some may work but will be buggy at best. They made various GUI changes since Firefox 2 which breaks some Firefox 2 themes.

Some news guys:

On today’s Firefox 3 status meeting, the need for a second release candidate was confirmed and it has been tentatively targeted for early June.

RC2 will fix about a couple dozen bugs including some top crashers, some affecting performance and localization related. Most of the bugs already have patches waiting for review or landing and the revised code is expected for tomorrow, with initial builds available on Thursday. QA will start the same day and last for about a week.

If all goes as planned, RC 2 should be released close to June 6 for a new round of tests by Firefox users. Depending on whether a new critical bug is found or not, a third RC could be necessary or RC2 will become Firefox 3 final.

I have been using firefox 3 since beta 2.
I hated firefox 1 and 2. but now, 3 is all i use. I always just used Avant for IE7, and it worked great. But firefox 3 is so much faster, and less ram heavy. I cant go back to my IE shell.

I tried it out but it kept on freezing for me.

It was really annoying since i maintain a Topic in a certain warez site which i have to upload things but this kept on freezing and my uploads would die.

I switched back to 2.0.0.14 and now no freezing

By the way NEVER EVER install Firefox 3 over a current Firefox 2 profile. It will cause nothing but problems, if you install Firefox 3, create a new profile and import the old data over manually like bookmarks and such.

whoops, i think i did that.

Do you think creating a new profile when using firefox 3 will stop the crashing?

firefox 3 is awesome. Been using it since beta 1? 2? i'm not sure. : D Only thing that bothers me is that some extensions are not compatible with firefox3 yet.

Most likely, yes. Though Firefox 3 no longer supports legacy Windows OSs as well Like Windows 95/98 and so on I believe.

Strange... I believe I've read somewhere on Mozilla's site "do not install Firefox 3 in the Firefox 2 directory" not "do not use FF2 profiles with FF3", but maybe I'm wrong

BTW, I'm using my FF2 profile with FF3 and works great

Since RC1 I haven't experienced a single crash

I've always used Firefox, but was considering switching for a while. With FF3, I'm sticking with FF. Definitely stepped up and delivered.
