For those of you who wanted to see how the game runs in HD on the emulator, in English, I've uploaded this video update/test, showing the entire prologue of the game.

http://dai.ly/x14dri3

There is another update from the team, and it's the fact that we'd like to add new members to the team. More specifically, we need capable translators fluent in both Japanese and English, with free time to help us to translate the game's text. This is due to the fact that we are currently a small team (at least its active part) and we think new additions will help us to archive a completion date sooner.

Since the romhacking part of the project is perfectly stable, translators only have to edit a txt file, changing its language, from Japanese to English. It would also help us if candidates have knowledge about the Final Fantasy saga, or the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology; but this is not a requirement.

Those of you interested, feel free to add me on skype (SkyBladeCloud), I'll send a short example of how the game's text look like (kind of a test) and if you can help us, you'll be part of the team!

Regards:

~Sky

Hey how much longer do you think this will be?

We want to aim for mid 2014 but it could take longer then that. Therefore we can't make any promises. Depends on what we are translating, and what is meant to be conveyed. To differentiate set us up the bomb with get me 3 bomb fragments or some such.

Breaking news for Type 0 fans. Square announced in Jump Magazine that there will be a sequel to Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call.

What's the awesome all about? The scan reveals that Ace from Type 0 is one of the playable characters!

Ok guys, honestly I can't do much if the rest of you don't play ball. I haven't even received the most basic specifications for the font, let alone the rest of the stuff I'll need. I started playing around, but there's really not much else I can do.

And to reiterate, the same problems are present in Sky's 50-minute video. They're especially prominent when the current font is highlighted in red. The issue you guys are having is that there are too many stray gray pixels all over the place. You need to stick with a 2-bit font to avoid that, yet still remain "dynamic". And much like the Japanese font uses, a single-pixel stroke. I'm not sure why you all haven't tried that yet. If you're dead set on using this font instead of any other, the stroke should fix the problem.
Y'know, I agree with this guy. I've been to a museum once, he's got a point!

Square Enix announced FINAL FANTASY AGITO for iOS and android. You can see some Type-0 Characters. But there aren't informations in which language it will be released and where. If yes than translate please, but I can't translate the japanese article.

Recycling those unused low-res models found in the iso for Type-0?
I recall they had the assets for the Kingdom Hearts 3DS demo buried inside the Final Mix version of Birth By Sleep.
A Japan-only thing, I.. guess.
ipa files used for iPhone games are simply zip files, and it often uses common file types like gif, bmp, png and the like. So fan-translating these isn't impossible per se. However, it can't be emulated on a PC (yet?).
All those mobile-only games, that's just.. sad.

The game is a technical prequel for Type 0. I could explain what that means but that means explaining spoilerific content.

It's a free-to-play game, with items purchasable with real life cash.
I already forgot about it. Square Enix sure knows how to rape their IPs, don't they?

In an ideal world, iPhone rom files (well, ipa files) for FTP games would be dissected to add the "premium items" to the default game, plus a re-balance hack. But I doubt this would help with the majority, especially with things like All The Bravest, and their social card-based crap.

Who the fuck cares? The way I figure it, it's a blessing in disguise: So long as they aren't bringing Type-0 over stateside (in any shape or form), it's essentially giving you all a free pass to continue the patch. The moment Type-0 itself shows up here either on Vita, 3DS, iOS or PSWhatever, it's over and done with. Commence the C&D lawyer brigade. And quite a few folks are looking forward to playing this on a PSP, but anything else that they might not have yet. So, as long as Square keeps dallying around, you'll have enough elbow room to actually work on this. The moment Type-0 heads stateside, all this work is wasted.

"The art of chess…the art, is knowing when a piece is most valuable. And then, in that very moment being willing to sacrifice it. For in the vacuum created by the loss of what is most precious, opportunity abounds."

Now....about my previous (two) posts....

I don't think Square Enix is ever planning to localize this for the PSP system so it really doesn't matter what they do. This DOOMTRAIN don't make no stops. CHOO-CHOO!

You don't get it. Currently, overall more people own a PSP than a 3DS (stateside at least). It doesn't matter which platform they bring it over on, your project is detrimental to sales. It's like with piracy; DVD rips will hurt Blu-ray sales.

You know why Nintendo never brought Mother 3 over? Because by the time a consideration was greenlighted, the game was already patched. A GBA game - insanely easy to emulate on virtually any platform. There were no sales to be had at that point. So, if Square sees any potential in Type-0 stateside, regardless of platform, you're done. Nothing more to it; ain't rocket surgery...

Also, I like how you conveniently ignored the second part of my post.

I honestly don't think Squenix will localize it at this point. They don't new PSP games in the states anymore. Unless they were to release it on the Vita but I don't find that very likely because Squeenix has been hating us fans as of late.

Final Fantasy X-2 international + Last Mission, have been translated by Pbirdman, him already lauched the patch and Square enix yet will release the HD version(translated) of it...if I have Type zero translated by sky...and square launch the UMD USA, I will buy it anyway.
sorry bad english.

 Don't know why, but I have a sense of déjà-vu here.
Never mind. Go on. Don't mind me.

yeah me too ...

so if the team gets more translators ( like 5 or so) how much faster will the patch progres..
im asking this since im trying so hard to find people who could help with the translation. and if i get to play the game sooner than mid 2014 il be motivated to look harder. this probably a question thats on everyones mind.... at least i think

FF Type-0 was released on October 2011.
It's been 2 years... there won't be a localization, ever. (PSP-wise)
And if there's a remake for the vita, it'll be years from now.

Apparently people keep forgetting the 3DS exists, and that it's insanely close to tech specs to the PSP... Not to mention, mobile.

Also, I got you your translators.

PSP is mobile, Vita is mobile, DS is mobile, hell even the 2DS is mobile.
That's just not a good reason...

FF Agito isn't iOS exclusive, it'll also be on Android which uses .apk files...
Being open-source and all, it's more likely to get hacked or patched if Square makes it JP-only.
I think...
