I would believe then that Final Fantasy IV isn't far behind:

A port based on a port? So glad I'm apart of the master port race. And i hope we get PC Master Race graphix but its very unlikely, gonna be probably the PSP port.

I figured it would be lifted from the recent Android/iOS cash-ins. Which, I mean, at least that would let me finally try that FF Dimensions game if all their mobile work comes over.Just guessing, but i think its gonna be PSP port.
And how games get ported to PC, the release date might be in a month or two.
Lame... I thought it was going to be the REAL Final Fantasy III:

Why is this FF3 AND FF6? I somehow feel like I was cheated out of a few FF games because of the naming confusion... I played FFI and II on NES, III on SNES, IV and V remakes on PSone, and then when I see roms for VI, it's the same as the III I've already played on the SNES... WTF?
The US skipped Final Fantasy II (Famicom) and Final Fantasy III (also Famicom), Final Fantasy IV became II in the US and VI became III. Then the PSX suddenly gets VII and so thus began the confusion with the numbers. Since then, all FF games have been released either on PSP, GBA, PSX or on some other device, but for a long time, there were anomalies with the numerical order of FF games.
Recap
Japan got FFI, II, III, IV, V, and VI
FF II, III and V were skipped for being "too difficult" for American audiences, then we got VI, which stupidly became III to avoid confusion or some crap like that. Ted Woosley actually had a script for Final Fantasy V but was never used.
Don't forget that they also planned to port FF II from the Famicom to the NES - there's a fully functional prototype rom that is translated, but was never released.
So having the American GBA releases I & II dawn of souls, 4, 5, 6, and the DS port of III, I essentially have all of the FF games pre-7?
Yup. Each and every one of them.
Okay, cool, thank you. (I still think a fully 3D version of 6 is severely overdue)
It really isn't.III is nothing special.
