Homebrew Final Fantasy Echoes In Time save issue?

Emulated in r4ysato and r4ds, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes in Time will not save. When I attempt to do so it shows an image of a DS and a cartridge with an X over transfer arrows, and tells me to restart my DS.

Could this be a problem with my R4 or is it common? Other games save fine, but this one, no matter what version I use, refuses to save.

There is a piracy block, There are AR Codes and Patches for it. For the AR Codes, Check here(for R4,Download Usrcheat.dat, Put it in the system folder,Delete w/e games you don't need and play) If it continues, might i recommend another flashcart?
