doesn't this game have a piracy protection?
always if i try to interact with safes i get a massage that might mean that the cart has been pulled out

your right, but u need the piracy bypass cheat which is in the new cheat database

I'm not surprised at all by someone in the US experiencing lag in wi-fi. You're using the Japanese rom, and clearly connecting to a Japanese server which is probably still being configured and/or tested. The US servers won't be up until the US release. Playing wi-fi with someone in the US just means you'll both be connecting to the Japanese server for now.

In fact, I think it's probably not a good idea to be playing wi-fi at all until the Japanese release (the 29th, iirc). What better way to advertise that you're a pirate than by connecting from the US to their wi-fi servers in Japan before the Japanese version is even in stores? I realize they haven't done anything about this in the past, but that still doesn't make it a good idea.

Ah, you have a good point there >_>, dont want the SE ninja coming to beat me like a pinata in the middle of the night. Then feeding my bloody remains to a chocobo.

Seems very fun so far. And I'm just playing single player too. I'm glad we don't have to deal with Yuri and Chelinka. That game had some of the worst voice acting ever, and I've played Tales of Destiny 2 and Megaman Legends!

It looks like they improved the 3D engine a bit! I counted 10-11 3D characters onscreen at once with no slowdown. This is just single player, but if you've played the previous game, you'd have noticed some rather bad slowdown when more than 7 characters were onscreen at once. A very pretty game.

I like the magicite system more here too. You don't even have to use the touch screen to select the element anymore or drag the orbs out and use them to open doors.

One question: do the voiced scenes use the ingame graphics engine or are they prerecorded video? I can't tell very well. I think they are videos, but they use the game's graphics, so it's hard to tell. Again, I assume it's video since the characters look higher-poly than what DS 3D can do (the characters actually have fingers).

That gave me a good chuckle.

Well, im currently am playing in a 3 player Co-Op room, FC only, the lag isnt as unbearable as before maybe like a .25-.5 second lag delay. Its very playable, maybe with only 2 people it would be near lagless.

Wait, can anyone comfirm all these weird changes?

No tribe abilities, magicite is now MP
Selkies dont have bows
Can create own party

And any other changes can anyone tell me?
I played the last one to death and im so confused.
I loved that 5-shot bow

Selkies do have bow's, you just cant buy one till after the 2nd dungeon, and not sure what you mean about tribe abilities, and yeah, you can create NPC adventurers and either play them as your main character (without starting a new save), or put them in your party to help in dungeons.

You can shoot 5 arrows when your higher lvl if that is what you meant by 5 shot bow.
Too bad no more pot rolling for lilties.

Um, guys, I have a question about the multiplayer. See, my brother and I both tried it, and at the forest's first boss, it seemed to stop letting us party together. I'm just wondering what's going on, why we weren't connecting or anything.

When i go to the dark crystal i go to wifi mode. Then theres 2 options... Can someone translate what they mean ._. And tell me how to host / join partys

- There is no more magicite, and no more collecting orbs. Using a spell takes away MP. Effectiveness of spells can be leveled up by collecting tokens or something. Not sure what to call them.
- You don't collect potions and ethers anymore. Picking them up uses them instantly
- You pick up items with the "Y" button now
- You can swim!
- You can create your own party, and have AI control 3 other players
- There is no more "Story Mode" and "Multiplayer Mode". Everything happens in story mode, even wi-fi co-op.
[Edit]
- Scrolls are much harder to get this time around, but once you get a scroll, you can use it as many times as you want to create the item

QUOTE(BakuFunn @ Jan 29 2009, 08:43 PM) Wait, can any character use any weapon?
I think i just gave a selkie an axe o.O
About the weapons:

- Any tribe can now equip any weapon
- Tribes still have specific weapon skills that they learn
- Each tribe only learns weapon skills for their primary and secondary weapon

So Selkies, for instance, have a primary weapon of a racket, and secondary weapon of a bow. Selkies can equip any type of weapon, but they will only learn weapon skills for the racket and the bow. So I'm sure Selkies can still get 5 shot at a high level. Other tribes can also use a bow, but they will never get the bow weapon skills.

Hope that helps.

That does help a lot. Thanks! Although, I'm not playing the Japanese version. Smart move on using MP for magic 'cause this way it can't be abused. But.. are there any cleric/priest type classes that heal and buff?
