Gaming Final Fantasy 4 Heroes - Magic Laboratory help

Hey,
i'm now at nearly the end of the game and got stuck in the magic laboratory (the basement of the Horne castle).
I'm told to "treat the royal sheep the right way" (it's a sheep-statue). I know that on the shield near the windmill stands: nose, right flank, left flank, tail
but i just can't figure out what to do...
Touching with the pen doesn't work and just talk to the sheep from different directions is also a failure.
Please help (:

Remember that board sign before the castle, by the windmill? Well, in it is written how to treat sheeps.
IIRC, you have to touch first the sheep facing down (front), then right, left and up (back), but you're not supposed to do it to the sheep in the middle of the room, go to the south-western corner of the room, up the stairs and you'll see four sheep statues, touch them as the board says.

Like i said, this doesn't work for me (by the way, the sheep is turned with the head down so the right flank is on the left side)
