Gaming FF IV help!! im stuck at the desert!

i have beaten the first boss, and i have the little girl on my team. i have already went to the place and saw rosa laying on the bed, i got the item, i applied the ablity to the little girl. but now im stuck in the desert, what do i do!!
yes, i have met a strange boss in the desert. its green. but i cant kill it, because it does like 290 dmg.
pelase help what do i do now?
