Ho,

I recently put atmosphere onto my switch and upgraded to firmware 7.0.1 using Choi.

1) is there any benefits of upgrading my firmware to 8? (Using Choi)

2) I think I have an old version of atmosphere, how do I upgrade this? I believe it’s by overriding the atmo folder on the sd card with the newer one? What files do I need to update?

3) Is there any other files I need to overwrite with newer updates?

4) I used the zip folder from SDsetup, does this include the sigpatches? As I am having trouble with most of my NSP’s not working.

Thanks.

1. Yes and no. If you stay, you will be able to get a software exploit, so you will be able to enter CFW without the jig and dongle or PC.
4. Only if you checked it.
Change your picture, creeps can store it and... yeah, omitting that.

First things first...you can update your console normally via the system updater.

Put the latest release files on your sd card and inject the latest fusee-primary.bin. Thats all.

I'd recommend updating atmosphere to either 8.0.1 or the latest 8.1.0 since they both work great and will allow you install the latest games if they require 8+ firmware to run
To update atmosphere drag and drop the latest release onto your sd card and overwrite the files. I would also download the latest sigpatches from https://gbatemp.net/threads/i-heard-that-you-guys-need-some-sweet-patches-for-atmosphere.521164/https://gbatemp.net/threads/i-heard-that-you-guys-need-some-sweet-patches-for-atmosphere.521164/ and put them on your sd card. The latest atmosphere + sigpatches is all you need to install and run nsps.

I have updated atmosphere and put the sigpatches onto the SD card, but on most of my games I am still getting 'An error has occured. If the problem persits please refer to the Nintendo Support website. Error Code:2005-0005'

I have done as suggested but the games still come up with the same error. My SD is exFAT. should it be fat32? Dont know what else I can do!

I would clear the atmosphere folder on your SD card and use Kosmos (a build of atmosphere) https://github.com/AtlasNX/Kosmos/releases
You can update to 8.0.1 or whatever it is but the only game I know of that requires that is Yokai Watch 4 (I think) so right now I wouldn't bother.

I have downloaded the files you suggested, deleted the atmosphere folder from my sd, put the folder from the link you provided (along with the sigpatches) onto my sd and the games still have the same error!! Could it be the NSPs I have used? Maybe they are dodgy files? I do not know what else to do. I am pulling my hair out!

you should always use fat32 yes. Never exfat it should be your fist priority to change to fat32
Like I said with the latest atmosphere and sigpatches games will install and play fine. You may need to reinstall the game if you tried to launch it without sigpatches

Ok! I am thinking to just start over again. I was originally using a SD card that was exFAT. I want to format it to FAT32. Can I just wipe everything off the SD card (just moving the nintendo folder and the switch folder to a save place). Reformat the SD to FAT32, copy over the nintendo and switch folder and then redo the whole atmosphere etc set up? Or can I just delete the nintendo and switch folder also?

Would you happen to know the best way of doing this? TBH I want to wipe everything off (all the installed games etc) and start over as nothing seems to be working! Can I just completely wipe off the SD card and reformat it or is there files on there I need to keep?

A clean setup which will 100% work is
delete everything apart from the nintendo folder
Move your nintendo folder to your pc, format to fat 32 and then move it back to your sd card (if your sd is bigger than 32gb You can use guiformat on windows to format to fat32)
download the latest atmosphere and put on the sd
download the latest sigpatches and put on the sd (make sure the kip patches and exefs patches folders are in the atmosphere one on your sd card)
Inject the fusee primary payload to launch atmosphere.

im on 8.0.1 but ok

I mean in general, few people on the forum would agree with me that you provide misleading info, as for newer games it would require higher firmware so if people wants to play them they gonna have to update.

Thank you, I will try this~!

Is there a reason I cant just use my computer to re-format the SD card? Why would I need to use Guiformat for a sd bigger than 32gb?

Also- Why do I need to inject the fuseee primary payload? Up until now I have been using the Hetake payload?

Windows don't have a FAT32 format built in, that you need to use third party formatter like guiformat, as for fusee primary, it is the official bootloader for Atmosphere.
