I am highly interested in hacking my Wii.

What all do I need to get to hack my Wii to play burnt Wii & GCN games?

A Mod Chip.

No, you can't play burnt games with the Twilight Hack.
No, you can't play burnt games without a mod chip.
Yes, you have to open your Wii.
Yes, you will void the warranty on your Wii.


To find out what chip you need, you can use one of the serial number sites to guess at what chip set your drive uses. But since you need to open your Wii to pop the chip on, you might as well open it up to find out without a doubt.

There are tons of guides on how to open your Wii and see what chip set your drive uses. No one will tell you how in this thread. Look it up.

Please don't post asking which modchip you should get for your chipset, as there are already 18 bajillion threads already asking that. Please use the search.

At this point, a modchip. There may be a wii iso loader in the future, but don't hold your breath.

I'm not worried about voiding the warranty of the Wii.

Where is this website you speak of regarding serial numbers? Once I have my serial number, this will basically decide which Mod Chip I can use, correct?

Is it really that hard to search or read through the forums? How many of these threads have popped up the past couple of days? Stop being so lazy and search.

This is only an educated guess... you will be better off opening your Wii to see which drive chip your using.

Once you know what chip, then you can search for the modchip that will work.
