PS1/2 Few questions about modded PS1

Another question:

I'm DLing FFVII for the PSX right now, but its 1.37 GB in .rar...
How can I burn the game to CD's?

A .rar file is a compressed file, if you use WinRAR to extract the files within it will probably be .ISOs or .CUE/.BIN files inside. Nero or like will burn them.

But if the .ISOs or .CUE/.BIN files are too big to fit on a a CD, what then?

Sorry, I know this is a very n00b question, but I just dont know the answer...

They won't be, there will be 3 (if I remember correctly) disc images in that rar file.
The .bin file may be larger in size than a CD but the image contains more information than just the data and will fit when burned.

My Nero wont burn a .BIN file... It doesnt recognize it...

You need to use the .cue file when burning it, alternatively, you can use daemon tools to mount the .bin and do a disc copy that way.

Which file(s) should I burn on a CD with Nero?

The .cue or the .img should do.

you don't even need the cue sheet most of the time, only a small amount of games need it, just burn the img file in nero burning rom expert mode, choose data type 2 and burn at your chose speed, and that's it.

Yes CD-R's and just about any brand will do.

yep, it seems that the quailty dosn't really matter when it comes to ps1 games, it's a diffrent story for ps2 games though.

Goddamn, its still not working....
I've tried it with Alcohol 120% and Nero 7 Express Mode.
Alcohol says that the CD isnt good, and with Nero 7 I cant even click on burn....
I dont know what I'm doing wrong

Yippie, the game doesnt work

My PSX just wont read it, its been reading for 3 minutes now, and its still at the standard Playstation screen....
I'm sure my PSX is modded, because it can read a Spyro 2 copy ( I got that from a guy that I dont know, so I dont know how he did it...)

Ive burned it with Alcohol 120%, at the minimum speed, and the file type is Playstation....

And the error from Alcohol 120% is 'No disc', but there is a disc in!!!

why are you using alcohol? anyways if you want to use alcohol 120% make sure these settings are ticked to burn a successful psx iso:

Datatype; Playstation
Write method RAW SAO +SUB

check enable buffer run if your burner supports it, check write, and also note when using alcohol 120% a cue sheet is needed, it's only nero that burns them with just a bin file.

And the error from Alcohol 120% is 'No disc', but there is a disc in!!!

ash i think i got that error sometimes with ps2 games, but i got no error message, it just freezes when i try to burn something, try resetting your computer resting your pc and don't run anything while burning the iso, that's the only advice i can give you.

Does your drive burn ok with other CDs or DVDs?
