OK people, cut the storms. This thread was presenting an idea. Please cut it out.

And we're trying to explain to you that crash =/= exploit. We done here?
Um... I know that. But I am investigating anyways. What is there to lose, compared to what there is to gain.

Also. You suck at typing, it is =! and not =/=.

Crash does not always mean exploit, but in some cases it does.
If they want to pursue this then that's their choice, who knows, it could give an exploit.
While I don't like people running onto temp and saying "look guiyz i found a crash someone make an exploit", if somebody wants to go and attempt to make an exploit, why stop them?

Exactly. Although you can't make an exploit, you can find one and actually exploit the flaw.

True, it's not my decision to stop him, but I don't want him to go saying he found something with no proof that it even happened.

There is something to lose. Your time. And this is a gaming forum, not Intro To C. (In which case it would be "!=", not "=!".)

I believe the rule of thumb should be if it obviously revolves around a save it should be ignored as it's likely a secondary exploit at most, which isn't even useful for most people new to the scene who have no access to a powersaves or another hacked console. If you're interested in looking into it then keep it to your own circles, temp isn't a place that's friendly to these types of threads, especially ones like these with absolutely no solid base to back it up. This isn't your blog either, go post about your progress somewhere else that's interested in your crash.

Hmm. At this point, I have no reason to bother will you all

If they're willing to make that sacrifice then there's no point stopping them ;)

They haven't made any wild assumptions yet I don't think. @OP: Keep it that way ;)

Well no, secondaries can be helpful.
For example if you have a friend who wants their 3ds hacked, if one of you owns a secondary exploit game you can use your hacked 3ds to hack theirs.
And when I got my n3ds, I used my o3ds to install basehaxx which I used to hack it.
The only thing I hate it secondaries on download-only games, which fates is not.

I never said they weren't useful

Uhg. Why do you all repeat the same crap over and over again? Spam is annoying, and I know how hacks work...

Because you're not getting the point. It's likely your friend received a modded item and the game is crashing because it can't find the item ID in the inventory. Nothing more, nothing less.

Because it's the truth and you won't accept it. And Jackus just seems to be along for the ride. :P

Hmm. Oh well. If a modded item can cause a crash, why not investigate anyways? It is still worth a chance for a secondary exploit. IDC what you say, I got nothing better to do.

Just take it somewhere else, please. No one wants to hear about it here. Especially not a known issue in the restoration pack

Haha, you guys may hate but I love his enthuthiasm.
Seriously, the only thing we possibly have to lose is his time, which he's fine with losing, so cut it out.
