im currently using batch dpg and it takes forever to code 1 vid it 12 hours to convert 800 MB worth of vids is there anything faster?

BatchDPG is based on mencoder/MPlayer (a very well respected high bit of kit), the only faster option as I see it is by hand with some of the commercial apps.

Try tweaking the options, turning the number of passes down to 1 is a good start and using lower quality settings will speed it up.

There is EZBuilder as well, http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=51045&hl=

My friend got this error while using batchDPG, does anyone knows any solution?

Are they running vista? Try running dpg as administrator (right click icon and select 'run as administrator')

Batch dpg comes with the default setting of Profile at Ultra. Change that to Medium which is perfectly fine, should lower your encoding time by about 5 times.

Test84:I think there are two solutions for your friend's problem. One could be that he doesn't have correct codecs for his videos.(most likely)
The other is that the video isn't in the correct drive.(for example:you have a c: and d: drive. Batch dpg/avisynth is in c: and the video file is in d:

(edit:)
Tell him to use K Lite Codec Pack. It's the best for batch dpg.

There's a program called DVDfab that converts protected movies directly to DPG. It's not a free program though.......unless.....well, you know.
