Open your computer find a way to clean the fan and the heatsink. dust can clog air circulation from the vent to the cpu. Also check if the fan is working.

I have formatted twice before but my comp still turned out slow. I will try to uninstall all the crap haven't touched in a while

I guess you haven't really formatted.
Format = complete wipe of all data on HD.

A new windows installation usually come with an option to format.

Well overheating will slow your system down quite a bit depending on how severe it is, you should try cleaning the fan and heatsink as the post above said.

Also yeah 500meg ram is really really low, ram modules arent that expensive these days and easy to install, upgrading to a gig or two certainly wont hurt!

When I play games on XP they usually start to slowdown when the first 5 minutes or so. Would RAM help so I could play pc games or some mmorpgs smoothly?

Have you formatted your computer yet?
I told you to 4 days ago.
Don't be stupid and download shit and you won't have to get antivirus or antispyware garbage.

What do you mean by slow down, like in frame rate or if you were going slow motion?

Well if your machine already has heating issues it will heat up the longer you are playing games, so if it starts out smooth and then progressively gets slower its probably due to heating up. And extra RAM never hurt a gamer, especially if your graphics card uses your main RAM.

Maybe you need to clean the thing up? I mean, clean it from dust.

I read an article somewhere that cleaning up your computer can boost it's performance overall, at least similar to what you feel the first time you see "Welcome to Windows, let's spend some time configuring your computer"

Formatting everything might work, but if you have lotsa programs (especially those exlusive-to-one-key type, like Kaspersky or something) it's not the best option, try to defrag our hard drive first, usually it boosts speed a bit.

Harmful objects like virus and such might slowdown your computer too, try to check your taskmanager for unknown processes, usually booted by USER(you, unknowingly of course, its a virus), scanning for them is a good option too, although usually viri target the the data inside your computer, not your hard drive.

If you have too many files within your hard drive, slowing down is something you can't escape, you can't expect your computer to be as fast as the day there's 80% free space in your hard drive now that you have only say, 20% left. In this case, the best option would be go get additional RAM, or get a better processor to keep up

I think you have all the answers in this topic here. Clean out the fans and shizzle (making sure you find a safe, trusted way of doing it first), install some more RAM (it's reeeeal cheap) and format the hard drive.
If that doesn't work, who knows what will.

It never hurts to clean out your recycling bin. I did and my computer is a little faster. Just because you deleted it to your recycling bin doesn't mean it's gone, part of it is still in your hard drive.
