Could it not be possible to connect your computer directly to your wii, instead of a flash drive?
Yes. Has been for a while.

http://www.flatmii.com/

I mean with the upcoming USB-Loader.
Impossible without a hardware interface of some sort.
If you can "mount" a FS, why not a SambaFS? It works good with movies...
Where can i get SambaFS?

He was asking about USB. I dunno about over a network.

I spose if Samba could be built into an IOS module, it could be done.

you guys think he can make it compatible whit a external drive like dvd burner?

that makes no sense, if he can use the internal dvd drive to read iso's perhaps that would make sense (tho u won't get many games on 1 dvd)

manias: It kind of makes sense. You'd still be able to get around the 6x burn limit with an external drive... but I'm not sure if a normal dvd drive would be able to read the burned media very easily.

That said, it could be more hassle to get it working than is worth it.

i wonder if it would be possable to use an ipod......

I guess technically it would be possible to use any USB Mass Storage Device as long as it was formatted to WBS filesystem.

Then again, iPod doesn't get recognized by the Wii as a normal USB Mass Storage Device either it is or isn't set as a hard drive.

Yes. I think iPod and Psp fails...check the wiki in my sig, or the Outdated Wiibrew-One. There are some other ones which work...you can test it with USB-Tester (link in the Link to my Wiki in my Sig

Updated.

According to all people saying "Yet another useless thread, with speculation and well, enough everyone." or "Honestly wait, speculations brings us nowhere and for what a FAQ it´s not even released.", I have to say: This is NO official FAQ, I just want to give an overview of all things confirmed by waninkoko yet. No rumors, no speculation, just facts from all the other threads for people who dont't want to read all posts in other topics.

i still have a few questions:

-if i have a 320GB external hd, can i a make a partition of 100GB for my wii games and then the other 220GB for my other windows stuff?
so then i can use if for music and movies and wii games?

-does the USB ISO loader have 100% game compatibility? will all games work?

-i've read that gc games will eventually be supported, great news

but what about vc/wiiware titles? will they be supported too?

big thanks, and keep this thread going! it's very helpful

1. Yes
2. Almost.
3. No they will most likely not be supported as they are not the same as regular wii games. But sys menu 4.0 supports loading them from sd though.

okay thanks
why not 100%? any list that says which games don't work?

Some games have wierd problems (date/time for example, or crashing for some reason). Just wait till it gets fixed.
