Hacking Failed pkg install - what happens to the Data on ps4

Hi just wondered what happens if a pkg install fails half way through installing. how would you uninstall the left over files on ps4. thanks in advance

If it fails I think the ps4 will just remove it itself as it errors out.

You can check the CUSA number of your PKG, and check for the installation files through FTP. (User/app/cusaxxxxx)

Hasnt happened yet. just wondered what happens when it does

if it's like the ps3, it will create a folder named INST_date of install. it's a temporary folder before it's moved to a folder named after the title id. however, on the ps3, a failed install generally leaves the temporary folder intact. it's one way that the ps3 eats away space on the hdd.

so does that mean the files get deleted and no trace is left

I don't know. I'd assume that sony corrected the problem. there's most likely a temporary folder of some sort, but I don't know where it is or what it's called.

When a game pkg fails, it shows the tile, with a half empty download progress bar. You have to select options and delete it.
If an update fails, no data left behind.

I got an error today trying to install a patch. It does still take up space. I found it via ftp under /user/download

Edit: but even after deleting it, it doesnt seem like PS4 knows its gone (even after a reboot), probably have to do some sort of database rebuild for that to be recognized. But as far as I know a rebuild will wipe all fake pkgs (SO DONT DO THAT).

A workaround I found was to delete the game the update was for.

So step by step:

1) Had Horizon installed (working fine)
2) Tried installing update, update failed and still took up space (shows up under Other in Storage at the very bottom of the list)
3) Deleting Horizon deleted both the failed patch and the game
4) Reinstalled Horizon

Shitty workaround but it worked. If anyone finds a better way please let us know.

today im installing fpkg to my 5.0.5 hen
PS4_Everybody's_Golf_US_CUSA04687_Game+Patch_v1.13

its installed until finish but not appared in home screen, with notification error=1

i check in my storage - application - others (there is 9++ gigabytes there)
any ways to delete that 9+ gigabyte in others storage ?
