Facebook is going to die.

So I was at school today talking to some of my FRIENDS!!! And were were talking about social networks. So like I was saying this is not only my opinion but 4/5 of my schools opinion. I have a lot of friends (relevant). So I went around asking my friends (I'm not a nerd BTW) and they all said that Facebook will be the next MySpace and Twitter and Google+ will rise. This is what they said: That Facebook has to many updates, that there changing it to crap, it is getting old, the updates suck. It is weird that they know about Google plus. Anyways they say 4/5 times that they use twitter and Google+ now instead of Facebook. Even some of my biology teachers use Google+ instead of Facebook. This is weird. I didn't think Google+ would become this popular in a short period of time. FACEBOOK IS GOING DOWN!!!

The way I see it, is Facebook is more for friends, where Google+ and Twitter are more suited for business/news.

They each have their own unique features, and have different purposes, so I can't see one dying and another one taking over.

Facebook will not be dying any time soon unless someone decides to copy it and do what Facebook did to Myspace. That is, kill it with its own idea.

The next Facebook isn't out there yet. Or it is and almost literally nobody has heard of it. How many people are still complaining about the new update anyway? The updates are fine, and actually keep people around. As of right now too many people use Facebook, and too many apps are centered around Facebook. It'll die, no question, everything will eventually die, but it won't be for a while.

The thing you have to understand is that Facebook, essentially, has its own gravity at the moment. People come to it because people are on it. And for all the changes, wow, its amazing that people still dont realise that you will bitch and moan about it for a few weeks and then find it works well, and the process will repeat again. The internet resists change like crazy and thats something that will happen for quite a while. Facebook will not die, it will be around for a long time and I am quite thankful for that since it is important in connecting with people from my past.

While that may be the case in the long, long run, it would be very foolish to underestimate Facebook's strength in the foreseeable future.

Besides, the fact that your school buddies have switched services does not automatically spell doom for FB. If this happened by the millions, then your point might have some weight to it.

Maybe news and businesses, but in terms of stuff that we actually care about: (celebrities, tv shows, games, bands etc), Facebook and Twitter are the best way and that's what they're suited for. Hell, the only reason why I have twitter is to follow some people that talk about stuff I like, and I don't talk to anybody on facebook now instead that's become more of a backup for twitter lol.

Google+ is the trendy place to go to "teach facebook a lesson".. you stay for a week, maybe two, realize it's a fucking wasteland comparatively, and then go back to facebook. Previously there wasn't anywhere handy to STOMP OFF TO, but now, there's Google+.

I like Google+, it's simpler and leaner, but definitely not as rich. I do hope it sticks around and grows, but if one of them has to die, it'll be G+. Facebook is entrenched. Everything passes eventually, but facebook's a long way from even hurting.

..and myspace died because it was horrendous and deserved it.

Also, i'm not really a fan of FB updates. They tend to change how something is done and every time most of the time it's not a good thing. As for their most recent and somewhat major update, is complete fail IMO.

Well for the updates this just means facebook is trying to make it better and I know a lot of people hate change but after they get
all the problems fixed it will be really great, plus its gone in november 5th cause Anon is suposedly going to hack it.
