Hacking F-Zero GX Freeze (Dios Mios, NMM)

Hi guys, F-Zero GX locks up on the screen that states "accessing memory card 1", or something to that effect.
I have never gotten past that screen once.

Is there any sort of fix for this? I'm assuming that it may be caused by NMM and possibly fixed by purchasing a GameCube Memory Card, but I'm hoping it won't come to that.

I'm using Dios Mios 2.3, CFG USB Loader 70r44, and i have NMM enabled.

works fine here with NMM turned off using a GC memory card. i would turn it off and test .

Pretty sure it needs a real memory card. The save file itself is protected, which is compared against certain data on the memory card which prevents homebrew methods of moving the file to another card.

F-Zero GX has yellow for NMM in the official compatibility list, so you should not expect it to work.

Yeah it works with NMM for me too.. only issue I found is loading replay saves but other than that the game save data is working correct.

GCMM now supports the transfer of this save file.

Ah, thanks for the replies everybody, I'll look into buying an actual memory card.
One final question. Are there any drawbacks (aside from potential lesser build quality) with purchasing non-Nintendo memory cards? Or benefits, for that matter?

i have never lost a save or even a corrupt save with my 3rd party memory card ..

No drawbacks that I'm aware of.
The main benefit is that you can buy a monster third-party card whereas official ones are limited to 251 blocks (16 Mb), or perhaps one size bigger. I bought this one so that I wouldn't have to worry about space for the rest of my life and it works great, but it took about 5 weeks to arrive from Hong Kong.

I once bought a third party card (never had an official one before) shortly after I got the gamecube and even after 9 years in use it still works as expected. So you can't really go wrong even with third party cards.
