i just checked the NDSRELS.INI file from r4 commander and it looks like it is 784KB while the one that ez-trim downloads is only 234KB. It cuts off at release 580 i believe.

Nice one, I'll look into that later on today, cheers again.

EDIT : I should have fixed the poblem with the release list not updating now, and I've fixed the problem with blank file names. Would you mind trying it out for me? Cheers.

got v0.03. when I click the button to update the release list I get an error:
"Access violation at address 004C3072 in module 'EZ-Trim+.exe'. Read of address 00000000."

Hopefully I've fixed that now. I've kept the version number and file number the same to save me farting about with the links in the first post.

Hmm this release database thing is interesting. What is it, some listing of all the released roms with their correct names etc?

Yep, it's got all the release numbers, correct names, country of origin, release group and languages. It's also got rom sizes in there as well, I always use the header when trimming but it's handy for displaying all the details in R4 Commander without reading the rom. It's just a standard INI file, if you want the web address for it just PM me.

looks like it's working pretty good now, good job. I'll let you know if any other nasty bugs pop up.

Nice one, glad it's finally working now. Thanks for helping me iron out the kinks. Definitely let me know if you come across any more problems, also if you've got any suggestions. Cheers again.

No problem, I'm currently teaching myself to program so i know the wonders of catching bugs, lol. As for a suggestion, possibly another file list for the output folder. I set the custom output folder to my removable usb drive and it would alot more convenient to be able to see which roms I already have trimmed and copied to the SD card without having to pop open a seperate explorer window and sort the actual rom files from the save files manually. That and possibly a dialogue displaying the free space on the selected output drive. That's really all I can think of for now. Keep up the good work, here's my email incase you ever need it [email protected]

I've added a file list box for the custom output folder that shows while your picking the files to trim, it swaps to the status log when you start it trimming or renaming. It shows the free space on the output drive as well.

Ez-Trim+ v0.04 is awesome. I'm happy such a tool exists

I have a feature request that is sorely needed. When renaming the files it would be extremely helpful to have an option to rename the matching save to match. I only recently stumbled across this tool and had many existing saves that needed to be renamed manually

I have another simple problem. "2375 Cooking Guide Cant Decide What To Eat (E) NDS [idgamez.co.uk]_trim.NDS" cannot be renamed even with the current update. What should I do to get this added?

Thanks for the thread, now I know who the author of this program is. I had posted it on GBAtemp's download section just yesterday, time to update. Btw it's the best trimmer yet, right on dude!

I only found this program because Searinox posted a copy yesterday.

Searinox: I remembered you talking about the program and it took some time to find this page - http://trolleyguy.blogetery.com/2008/05/16/9/ and then finally search for this thread. The version you uploaded is actually slightly older than the one you can download from his blog.

That won't be necessary but thanks for the thought. Already the moment I saw this thread I went to update both the author and the program, imma fast thing yes I am.

But yeh this program is a great tool and I believe it deserves to be in the GBAtemp download archive.
