Hardware extremely slow write speeds on SDXC card

recently i bought a 128gb sandisk sd card from here. It 4 1/2 stars on amazon with 5k reviews, so i'm pretty sure it's a legit card. (Planning on running it through h2testw tonight.) When i try to write anything to the card, I'm only getting transfer speeds of about 500KB/s, 1000KB/s max. Does anybody know why this is happening? Is there a reliable way to get better speeds out of the card? I'm not finding any good answers on google. Thanks for your help!

What are you using to read the card? A built in card reader, or a USB card reader?

Also, did you buy direct from Amazon, or from a third party seller in the Amazon marketplace?

Definitely run h2testw as soon as possible.

Lesson is to always check if you’re buying direct from Amazon or from a third party seller (and to always check the seller ratings and look out for “too good to be true” prices).
